Nurse training in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean region
Description
Iran - The Reza Shah Kabir School of Nursing, Teheran.
Experts provided by WHO contributed in reorganizing the School of Nursing at Rey, Teheran, as an independent educational institution to train nurses for Iran's expanding health services. The new national curriculum was tried out in the school: mental health was included in the student's programme and in staff education and the faculty of the school helped to formulate personal policies for graduate nurses.
For their practical training, third year students work in a private clinic of Teheran (Bazar Ganan). Here, a third year student nurse is getting ready to assist in the operation theatre.
