Tuberculosis in the WHO European region
Description
In places where Tuberculosis found most of its victims, there were often no hospital or sanatorium. To overcome this lack, WHO was helping to train personnel in home care of the tuberculous and in preventive techniques such as BCG vaccination.
In Israel, a mobile X-ray unit has arrived in an Arab village just inside the Israeli-Jordanian border. The survey carried out by the government is expected to cover 85% of the population.
