Elderly health services in China, Hong Kong SAR
Description
Foreign domestic helpers are playing a major role in caring for the elderly persons in a number of families in Hong Kong. The Department of Health and the Social Welfare Department implemented a pilot training scheme to strengthen the skills of foreign domestic helpers in taking care of frail elderly persons, so as to enhance their quality of life in the community and support ageing in place for them. The physiotherapist is demonstrating the skill in repositioning an elderly person to proper sitting posture during a skill-training workshop for foreign domestic helpers.
