Description In Bangladesh, malaria workers are participating in the world's largest preventive program against blindness. They visit each house, giving vitamin A capsules to the younger children and noting down their names. 
Xerophthalmia first shows itself by a loss of night vision. Though this disease is the most common cause of blindness among children, it is easily preventable, since the primary cause is a lack of vitamin A.
