Description
In most countries, people either don't know the facts about leprosy, or they imagine that with today's technological advances it is no longer a problem. WHO continues to give careful attention to the problem of leprosy, to determine more exactly how many people are affected, and to find effective means of taking action.
The programme in Burma has brought help to more than 225,000 patients. Emphasis is on early diagnosis and outpatient care. These youngsters are being examined by a public health worker.
