Description On 16 and 17 April 2024, the Technical Advisory Group on the Responsible Use of the Life Sciences and Dual-Use Research (TAG-RULS DUR) met for the first time in a hybrid meeting at WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.



This meeting provided the opportunity for TAG-RULS DUR members to exchange on WHO and related Technical Advisory Group activities relevant to their areas of work; to discuss current and upcoming activities of the project on the responsible use of the life sciences and dual-use research and to provide technical guidance to WHO. 
The TAG-RULS DUR was established in November 2023 to provide independent and strategic advice to WHO around technical areas relevant to the monitoring and mitigation of biorisks, advances in the life sciences and related technologies, the governance of dual-use research and the responsible use of the life sciences.
