Description TUBERCULOSIS - BEWARE: DANGER



Fear of tuberculosis has diminished since the number of deaths from this cause has gone down, but the disease is still rampant. It is in fact more infectious than leprosy. Precautions in the TB laboratory include the red coloring of items of equipment to prevent confusion with items from other rooms. WHO-sponsored investigations of current tuberculosis problems, including among other studies the search for a new, cheap, non-toxic, easily administered drug that will not induce drug-resistance in the bacillus, are being pursued in several countries.



At the ICI Research Laboratory, Macclesfield, operators are masked and wear colored robes.
