Headline
Tuberculosis in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean region
Description
Full routine procedures of TB examination were carried out at the Anti-Tuberculosis Demonstration Center in Damascus. For many of the Syrian doctors and nurses on the staff the techniques were new. Under the guidance of Dr Etienne Berthet and his small staff of World Health Organization experts they were getting valuable training and experience which enabled them to operate similar centers in other parts of Syria.
Dr Etienne Berthet discusses the X-ray plates of a TB patient with his Syrian staff.
