Description
The First Session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products took place in Geneva, Switzerland from 8 to 10 October 2018. The three-day session was the first gathering of the Parties to the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products, following the treaty’s entry into force on 25 September 2018. Representatives of all 44 Parties to the Protocol took part. Also present were representatives of 56 Parties to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) that were not Party to the Protocol, four international intergovernmental organizations and nine nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), accredited as observers.
