Headline
Migrant workers in the WHO European region
Description
Very little specific and systematic epidemiological information was available about health and disease among foreign workers in Europe and this was also true of Turkish migrants. However, we did know something about the health situation of Turkish workers in the Federal Republic of Germany, who faced three main problems: a slightly higher than average incidence of tuberculosis, a high rate of occupational accidents and difficulty in obtaining psychiatric ware when needed. Group medical examinations in Istanbul for prospective works in the Federal Republic of Germany. The entire series of tests took two days.
Examination of fingers, joints, shoulders, backs and feet, including a search for hernias and scar tissue.
