Description
The Government of the Philippines launched in 1951 a nation-wide campaign against tuberculosis. UNICEF provided X-Ray and laboratory equipment. The Department of Health Laboratories produced BCG vaccines for the anti-TB campaign. Department of Health personnel, under the direction of Dr Anton Geser, WHO specialist, conducted a widespread vaccination programme, working through school and municipal authorities.
