Description
The World Health Organization (WHO) provided human resources support in the form of secondment of 15 staff members to the Ministry of Public Health to support acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) active surveillance. In addition, WHO contributed to the development of awareness materials for health workers on AFP surveillance. These efforts helped to maintain indicators for AFP active surveillance above required standards.WHO and AFP teams conducting joint visit and specimen collection at the main waste management site in Beirut.
