Description
Dr Asma Parveen is the Medical officer in charge of the Majnu Ka Tila health dispensary. As a practicing physician, she sees between 150 and 200 patients per day, who queue at her office door and see her for just a few minutes. She says that the push to improve coverage of routine immunization - known as Mission Indradhanush - resulted in an increase from the low 60s in her area, to more than 80%. She says improvements in routine immunization result in healthier chidden, and fewer visits to the doctor - something she says is “great for the future of Indian children.” Delhi, August 2019.
