Headline
Medical training in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean region
Description
The Sudan is working hard to develop its health services. A seven-year plan is under way for the expansion of rural health units. WHO is assisting in many fields : at Wad Medani a model tuberculosis demonstration centre has been set up and WHO and UNICEF have helped to organise the Rural Health Demonstration Area Project at El Huda.
A Sudanese surgeon performs a surgical operation in the hospital of El Obeid, capital of Kodorfan Province. The assistants and nurses are also Sudanese.
