Description Leprosy demystified - A World Health Photographer, Pierre André Pittet, travelled 2000,00 miles around the world in the course of 8 years. He visited all the countries where leprosy is still rampant and brought back over 25,000 photographs. From these "World Health Magazine" made a small selection of pictures. "In 8 years - says P.A. Pittet - I have seen leprosy gradually change from a legendary, mystic evil; whose very name spelled fear, to a disease which is being effectively treated like any other that medicine thoroughly understands". These photographs show that there is no need in our vocabularies for the term "leper".
