Description Fourteenth World Health Assembly (WHA14), New Delhi, 7-24 February 1961

The Prime Minister of India, Mr Jawaharlal Nehru, inaugurated the 14th World Health Assembly at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 7 February. Delegates from WHO's 103 Member (and 2 Associate Member) States are attending this annual assembly of the World Health Organization, whose HQ is in Geneva, Switzerland. The Assembly will last about three weeks. The WHO Programme and Budget for 1962 (the 1961 budget is $18,975,354), WHO's assistance to the Congo (Leopoldville), smallpox eradication, radiation health, the world-wide malaria eradication campaign are among the items on the agenda of this Assembly.
