The World Health Organisation (WHO) has named Egypt the first country in the Eastern Mediterranean region to achieve the regional target for hepatitis B virus (HBV) control.

In recognition, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has received an official certificate from the World Health Organisation
